In this article, you will learn how you can use Adobe tools for UI/ UX Design and make the most out of it.

Its usually a mess for the UI/ UX designers to find all the right design tools from different places, take subscriptions separately and manage across different platforms.

We do need a lot of different tools for different stages of a project or just to explore design trends. We also want them to be easy to use and affordable.

It takes a lot of time and good amount of research before we can trust a platform and plan to invest in it.

But no need to fear, when Adobe is here. Adobe provides a Creative Cloud plan which gives you a lot of tools to solve different design purposes.

Adobe is a brand which people can trust. It is usually a good bet for the beginners where you can easily manage all the things at one place.

We will go through the following tools in this article-

  1. Photoshop | Adobe Design Tools
  2. Illustrator | Adobe Design Tools
  3. XD | Adobe Design Tools
  4. Dreamweaver | Adobe Design Tools
  5. After Effects | Adobe Design Tools
  6. Animate | Adobe Design Tools

1) Photoshop – Adobe Design Tools

Adobe Photoshop is usually the first tool which every designer learns. There is a misconception that Photoshop is used just to edit photos.

Instead, it is a very diverse tool which can do a lot more. But, here we are more concerned about UI/ UX Design. So, we will talk in that term only.

Using Photoshop, UI/ UX designers can make UI elements, wireframes and mockups for their designs.

It is a good tool to begin with as all the designers get comfortable with it pretty soon. But, is it good for complex projects? I would say no!

It can get a little difficult to manage complex UI/UX projects on Photoshop.

2) Illustrator – Adobe Design Tools

Just like Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator is also vast. You will always keep on learning new things about it.

Apart from the wireframes and mockups, Illustrator can help you design logos, icons, illustrations, sketches and typography as well.

You must have heard that Illustrator is better than Photoshop while it isn’t really the case. Both work on different concepts.

Photoshop is raster-based graphics editor while Illustrator is vector-based graphics editor.

If there is a need for your design to be scalable, it is better to design with Illustrator.

3) XD – Adobe Design Tools

Adobe XD is a must have for UI/ UX designers, specially UX designers. You can easily make wireframes for apps and websites, simple animations and mockups in XD.

4) Dreamweaver – Adobe Design Tools

Dreamweaver is such a tool of Adobe which can help you design, develop as well as manage static and dynamic websites.

It supports HTML, CSS, Javascript and other web standards. No! Don’t freak out after hearing about all these coding languages!

It has an advanced coding engine which does all the major coding for you.

But yes, if you have some knowledge about these, you will be able to manipulate the codes for better.

It also helps to make your website responsive. This means, your website will be able to fit into any screen size be it mobile, tablet or laptop.

It also gives you the option of live editing with which you will be able to make changes to your website in real time. Pretty cool, right?

5) After Effects – Adobe Design Tools

After Effects can help us create anything. Literally anything!

Though it is popularly known as motion graphics and visual effects software, it can work wonders for UI/ UX designers. How?

Every UI/UX designer faces this issue where there is a need of putting simple animations into our design.

Animations can help you tell a story in a better way. But, we don’t want to hire an animation designer for it as it might mess up the budget.

Or we are too particular about our design and don’t want to take any risk with someone else working on it (designer things).

10 mistakes every UI/UX Designer makes ->

Or we think our idea is too simple to hire a separate designer for it.

Whatever the reason might me, Adobe Animate makes this task easier for us. You can easily design your animations and can even make them interactive.

This is widely used for designing interactive games, characters, infographics, TV shows, cartoons, etc.

It allows the designs to be published on any platform and in various formats. Adobe Animate uses action script but you need not worry about it.
