One can make business websites, portfolios, blogs, eCommerce stores and pretty much everything on WordPress.
WordPress provides both – a free platform and a paid platform. WordPress.com is free while WordPress.org is paid.
WordPress.org is preferred by most people. You have to buy your own domain and hosting in it. The website completely belongs to you.
You have to take all the responsibilities from updating your website to backing it up.
WordPress.org provides you with a lot of cool free and paid themes and plugins. This makes your website designing super easy and fun!
On the other hand, WordPress.com is managed by its own. Though it is a good option for beginner bloggers, it has a lot of restrictions.
You cannot earn through ads, or get a custom domain name or use plugins and themes freely. This is why, people don’t use WordPress.com often.

Hey,
If you are using WordPress then you can go to the Dashboard -> Appearance -> Customize where you can make changes for different screen sizes (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile).
